'Chien Sauteur' by Elie Martin
A rare working automaton by inventor & creator, Elie Martin from La Rochelle, France released in 1880

This charming jumping poodle is constructed of a metal body around the clever mechanism held within, operated by a key to the tummy. He has glass eyes and soft floppy ears with open pink mouth and black painted nose. The original sheepskin is mostly intact and the metal legs and face have remains of soft cream kid leather. He is entirely original with no signs of restoration
